Material Existence: Japanese Art from J?mon Period to Present
The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art is honored to present a treasured collection of cultural art from ancient Japan to the present day in its newest featured exhibition, Material Existence: Japanese Art from J?mon Period to Present. This intimate and fascinating journey through time begins in 10,000 BC and showcases the most ancient artifacts from the mysterious prehistoric J?mon culture. The journey continues through the revered history of this regal country’s greatest artistic traditions and the subtle yet masterful evolution of Japanese art to the present day.
This two-part, year-long exhibition, curated by Alison Bradley, includes works that will make their debut in the United States. Pieces range from large-scale installations to smaller works, all connected by the natural world and spirituality unique to Japanese history and culture. Part one of this extraordinary exhibit is on view from November 16, 2019, to April 26, 2020.
