The Range Steakhouse
The Range Steakhouse at Harrah's is one of the best old-school steak houses in Las Vegas, serving high quality meats in an elegant and classy setting. While the rest of Harrah's is more casual, you're definitely in for a more sophisticated experience when you dine at The Range.
The restaurant creates an atmosphere of luxury and sophistication once you step through the doors, with light woods accented with royal blue. A comfortable lounge with plush club chairs is a great place to grab a pre-dinner cocktail as you wait for your table. Thursdays- Saturdays, you can enjoy live jazz music in the lounge, another flair that adds to the old-school vibe of the restaurant.
Wrap around windows in the dining room provide stunning views of The Strip, framed by lush palm trees that grow just outside the window, creating a truly romantic atmosphere.
The food lives up to the dÈcor, as phenomenal appetizers include raw bar cocktail, artichoke dip, crab cakes, Alaskan crab cocktail, split giant crab legs and lobster bisque. But you should really try the house specialty starters like the Peking duck confit and the Escargot en croute, dipped in butter, parsley and garlic, then topped with a flaky puff pastry.
But most people are here for the steaks, and they're absolutely top quality. The staff prepares all steaks grilled-to-order in a variety of sizes ranging from a succulent 8-ounce filet to a massive 24-ounce porterhouse. Slow-roasted prime rib is served with natural au jus and fresh horseradish in 12- or 16-ounce cuts.
The restaurant also serves a wide variety of fresh seafood entrees like Atlantic salmon fillets, swordfish steaks, giant shrimp scampi, twin lobster tails and Alaskan king crab legs, all of which can be enjoyed on their own or ordered as a side to one of their steaks to create your own customized surf and turf dish.
Additional entrees include free-range grilled chicken, blackened chips of rib-eye and double cut pork loin chops. Whatever you end up ordering tastes great when paired with one of the restaurant's sides, which includes steakhouse staples like rich creamed spinach and potatoes au gratin.
Like any good steakhouse, the restaurant features a deep wine list designed to pair perfectly with the food on the menu. Ask your server to help you pick the perfect bottle to go with your meal.
Sinful desserts include perfectly executed steakhouse favorites like rich chocolate cake, creme brulee and a nice selection of ice cream flavors.
