Legendary former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman was the perfect ambassador for Sin City, as the flamboyant politician played up the glamour of the town and rarely made public appearances when he wasn’t flanked by beautiful showgirls. When Goodman opened his eponymous restaurant, people expected a dining experience that would reflect his larger than life persona… and Oscar’s Steakhouse at The Plaza in Downtown delivers in a big way.
Located in the resort’s famous glass dome, the perfect views of the bright lights of The Fremont Street Experience are just the beginning of the flashy sights in store for you when you visit the completely unique restaurant. Oscar’s is covered with amazing photos and memorabilia from Las Vegas history and Goodman’s twelve year tenure as Mayor, but the most unique features of the restaurant are the beautiful hostesses (or “broads” as Goodman cheekily calls them). These glamorous ladies roam the restaurant and will sit with you as you dine, riffing on Las Vegas history or whatever subject you want to talk about.
The menu delivers as well, with appetizers such as the Crab Cake, Seafood and Shellfish Platter, Shrimp Cocktail, Steak Tartare, Seared Tuna, Caesar Salad with Anchovy and Egg Yolk, Onion Soup, and Corn & Crab Bisque. Entrees include bone-in Pork Chop, Citrus-Crusted Halibut, Veal Chop, Prime Rib, Roasted Chicken & Artichokes and aged and grilled premium Steaks like the New York Strip, Filet Mignon, or Spicy Flame Charred Spilotro. Sides include Jumbo Baked Potatoes, Onion Strings, Mac & Cheese, Sweet Potato Wedges with Jalapeno Honey Butter, Jumbo Shrimp, and Roasted Corn Brulee.
Enjoy a fine bottle of Wine or a strong Cocktail from the flirty bar area, where the bartenders make perfectly mixed Martinis (the former mayor’s signature drink). Finish your meal off with something sweet, such as the made in-house Tiramisu, Crème Brulle, Chocolate Mousse, and Cheesecake.
Oscar’s Steakhouse at The Plaza is a uniquely glitzy dining experience with an incredible view, delivering an over the top spectacle of Beef, Booze, and Broads that lives up to the flamboyant reputation of iconic former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman.
