It just might be a sin to miss Nunsense playing in Kahunaville at Treasure Island…or it would be if the critics have their say. The show won four Outer Critics Circle Awards including “Best Musical”, “Best Book” and “Best Music” when it opened in New York, and now you can see a the classic musical comedy in Sin City.
The plot is just as bizarre as the comedy is infectious. It begins with the cook for the Little Sisters of Hoboken, who accidentally poisons 52 people in the convent. The Little Sisters manage to get the majority of them buried, but four are put on ice in the convent freezer until the remaining five survivors figure out what exactly they should do, since they’ve run out of funeral funds.
So what do they decide to do? Put on a fundraiser, of course, in which they sing, dance and laugh, all in good fun, that appropriate for all ages.
The show runs in Kahunaville at Treasure Island, a fun party bar in restaurant with a stage that gives it a more intimate vibe where even the cheap seats offer great views of the show.
The hilarious musical has been a fixture on the theater scene for over 25 years on stages around the world. Over 30,000 actors have played the nuns globally, and there have been several sequels and variations to this smash hit. Creator Dan Goggin was schooled by Marywood Dominican Sisters, and based the original version of of the show on the nuns he knew from childhood, which adds a personal and warm touch to the hilarious proceedings.
This side-splitting yet clean comedy musical is a Las Vegas rarity: entertainment that’s appropriate for all ages that the whole family will love.
