Red Rock Canyon, located just 20 miles from the Las Vegas Strip, is a conservation area known for incredible rock formations with dramatic peaks and colors. Visited by over 2 million people annually, it’s become one of Vegas’s most popular nature destinations.
With prehistoric remnants including petroglyphs from indigenous tribes that inhabited the area for centuries, it’s also home to incredible biodiversity. There’s over 600 species of plants as well as wild donkeys and desert bighorn sheep known to wander the land.
Las Vegas Scenic Tour’s Red Rock Canyon Tour offers a comfortable ride in a shuttle van (to and from Vegas Hotels) along the picturesque scenic loop that traverses 13 miles through the canyon. A private tour guide accompanies the trip pointing out the best highlights within this “maze of canyons.”
Make sure to bring your camera fully charged because you’ll want to take lots of pictures along the way. Stops include photo opportunities along the loop as well as a visit to the Visitor Center, which has souvenirs and information about the area.
