The classic and irreverent musical comedy, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas brings some toe tapping Broadway style fun to The Plaza Hotel and Casino in Downtown Las Vegas in a show that merrily celebrates sin.
The tuneful musical is based on the true story of The Chicken Ranch, an iconic brothel located in the heart of Texas. The show tells the heroic tale of the local sheriff, the brothel’s Madame, and the beautiful staff as they battle against a moralizing and attention seeking TV host to keep the legendary establishment open.
The classic show, which made its Broadway debut in 1978 and was turned into a hit movie starring Burt Reynolds and Dolly Parton in 1982, is told with catchy, country flavored tunes and honky-tonk numbers featuring Texas style instruments like fiddles and banjos as well as outrageous, risqué, and witty lyrics. The musical numbers are enhanced by beautiful chorus lines of bewitching working girls played by some of the most gorgeous women in Las Vegas, while the goofy and irreverent show always sneaks up on audiences with its surprising amount of heart.
The ever popular, Tony award winning musical celebrates sin with upbeat tunes and a charmingly fun tone, which is why it fits in perfectly in the City of Sin. The new production in The Plaza’s Showroom in Downtown Las Vegas will please diehard fans of the Texas sized Broadway classic, and create some brand new fans of the musical as well.
