An Evening at La Cage
An Evening at La Cage was one of the longest running shows in Las Vegas history. Running continuously for nearly 24 years at The Riviera, the world famous drag-queen revue closed in 2009 due to the unstable economy. It was the end of an era, as millions of people who had enjoyed the show over the years were sad to see the famous spectacle close.
But you can't keep a good queen down for long, and like a Phoenix with a fabulous sense of fashion, An Evening at La Cage has risen from the ashes. After a short run at the (appropriately named) Four Queens Hotel in Downtown, the show has made its glorious return to The Riviera.
There's a reason that An Evening at La Cage is the most famous female impersonator show on the planet. Featuring a cast of drag queens who have uncanny resemblances to iconic divas like Lady Gaga, Madonna, Bette Midler, and Dolly Parton, these amazing performers dance to the classic tunes of the ladies they're impersonating with enough sass and stage presence to give the real McCoys a run for their money. The show's electric energy never lets up with a killer combination of music, dance and comedy.
Emcee Jimmy Emerson keeps the show moving at a lightning pace, impersonating icons like Wynonna Judd, Roseanne Barr, Anna Nicole Smith and bringing life to original character Tammy Spraynette, the outrageous queen of the trailer park.
The original version of the show ran for nearly 24 years on The Strip, and there's no reason to think that the fabulous and reinvigorated version of the world famous female impersonator revue can't run for another three decades.
